It’s the crazy, lazy, hazy days of summer, and still, Papa and the family can’t help but notice the calendar points to opening day for Papa’s Pumpkin Patch in just 43 sleeps.

That’s right! Papa’s will open for our 2017 season at noon on Sunday, Sept. 10 through Saturday, Oct. 21. We will be open 12-7 pm daily, weather permitting, and we’ve got to get ready for a sea of orange!

August is all about final preparations. We decide on where activities like the zip lines, pony rides, train stations, etc. will be located. We are busy scheduling volunteers, birthday parties, corporate events and class visits. We are also getting fresh coats of paint and stain on buildings, signs and play structures.

On of the fun aspects of preparation is the “quality testing” family and friends offer. For example, there’s a new slide design set up, and a handful of new swings hung for the little people in the family to try – each child ready to give Papa an opinion about how it works.
