Papa said his polar patch was dependent on snow, and we’ve got enough to open Dec. 26 from 12-5 pm! It’s a short season so plan now to join us: Dec. 26 – Jan. 5.

We will be open 12-5 pm daily, weather permitting. Between now and then, keep your fingers cross for temperatures to warm up (15-25 degrees is about perfect for a polar patch). If the wind chill drops below -15 degrees or the temperature doesn’t hit zero, we likely won’t open.

As with Papa’s Pumpkin Patch, we will post daily during the season (hopefully by 10 am) to let you know our intentions for the day if the weather is questionable.

Lots of pumpkin patch visitors ask, “What’s there to do at Papa’s Polar Patch?” You should check out the Things To Do section of our website; hands down the most popular activity is the Old-Fashioned Sled Rides. As Papa likes to say, “It’s more fun than is legal!”

This season we plan to have single and triple sleds running, along with horse-drawn sleigh rides. There will be other outdoor activities and the big red barn serves as the entrance and Papa’s warming house during the polar patch season.
