It’s one of the toughest decisions we’ve had to make all season. The sun is shining, the sky is blue and Papa’s parking lot and much of the pumpkin patch are flooded.
Papa’s Pumpkin Patch has to be closed today, Sunday, Oct. 6.
We’re digging out the 20+ sump pumps from the 2011 flood and firing them up. The ground is so saturated there’s no place for the nearly 2″ of rain and snow to go. We’ll work all day to move the water to the woods where it can soak in so we are ready to welcome the 1,200 children scheduled for field trips this week.
To our friends, the many families who planned trips to Papa’s this weekend — we apologize. If there was another way, we would certainly take it. We hope you will understand and come back to see us again soon!
Take good care,
Papa
