It’s hard to believe. 2016 is the first year Papa has raised sunflowers, and the family is truly excited now that their happy faces are starting to show up in the field. In case you didn’t know, sunflowers got their name because they literally follow the sun across the sky. In the morning, the flowers are facing east, and at sundown, they rotate all they way around (or over) to the west.
Papa’s plan for the sunflowers is that we will harvest them and have them available for you to buy and use as bird feeders or as a part of your fall display in your yard.
We plan to share a few more photos and maybe even a time-lapse video of the sunflower field as it matures over the next few weeks.
Take good care,
Papa
